FAQs and Important Information

Do I need a reservation?

Yes, reservations are required by booking online or by calling 434.770.2521.

 

What time do I need to arrive?

To maximize your tour experience, please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, sign the waiver, and pay (if you have not paid already).

Do I need to know how to ride?

No experience is necessary! Segway training is required and provided before each tour or ride. 

 

What is the minimum age?

Riders ages 14 and up are welcome. A parent or guardian must be present to sign the waiver.

 

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY!

  • Helmets are required and provided. You may bring your own bicycle or skateboard helmet if you like.

  • We reserve the right to refuse participation at any time if we feel riders cannot or will not ride the Segway safely.

  • Segway rides are not suitable for pregnant women, those with balance issues or unable to stand up to 2.5 hours.

  • Cell phone photos/videos are not allowed while riding the Segway. You may take photos when we stop at each site, not while on the machine.

 

What is your Cancellation Policy?

  • Cancellation is 100% refundable up to 24 hours before the start time. If canceled within 24 hours of your scheduled time, credit will be given for use within 6 months.

 

What if the weather is bad?

For your safety, tours may be canceled or rescheduled in the event of snow, ice, thunder/lightning or heavy rain. We will do our best to contact you if we need to cancel, but please call 434.770.2521 the morning of the tour if you have a concern about inclement weather. Please provide another guest's mobile phone number in case we cannot reach the primary person.

 

What should I wear?

  • Dress comfortably for the weather. Layers and/or a raincoat are recommended during spring and fall when the weather can be unpredictable. 

  • Comfortable, flat, close-toed shoes are highly recommended. You may be standing up to 2.5 hours.

 

What should I bring?

  • You may bring water, sunglasses and/or sunscreen, especially during the hot summer months. We also have water for sale.

  • Handlebar bags are provided on each machine to carry small personal items and water.

  • Heavy backpacks or bags are not recommended.

 

Should I tip the guide?

Tips are not required or expected but certainly appreciated if you enjoyed the experience.
